Fashion Friday: Utility vest and lace

One of my favorite trends for the past few years is the military look! I love the contrast of a masculine piece like the military jacket or utility vest with something very feminine like lace, florals, or over a dress.

Here is my lastest take on the military trend for spring.

Vest: Old Navy
Lace top: Loft
Coral denim: thrifted
Wedges: Lucky
Belt: Target

Happy Friday!

Natural way to clean and disinfect baby toys

My son is now teething, so naturally everything is going in his mouth! Kinda scary, since I know there are tons of germs and dirt on everything. I try to not be a total germ-a-phobe, but I also don't want my baby getting sick from the billions of germs, viruses and bacteria living on everything.

I want to be able to keep his toys clean and free of potential nasty germs but I don't want to use any harsh products to do so. I read that white vinegar is a great, natural and safe cleaning agent. It just so happened I had a gallon if it in my cuppard! My lucky day!!

Make your own natural, safe cleaner:

All you need is an empty spray bottle ( I used my old fruit & veggie wash spray bottle), 1 cup of white vinegar, and 6 drops of tea tree oil. The tea tree oil acts as an anti-bacterial, anti-fungal. Spray any toy or surface area that baby touches with the cleaner and wipe it dry.

The vinegar smell is not the prettiest, but at least I know my baby will not be injesting any harsh, toxic cleaning products when he puts his toys in his mouth!

New favorite lip product by Revlon

I recently found a fun new lip balm from Revlon. It's the Colorburst Matte Balm. This balm goes on really smooth and creamy, stays in place (even after sipping my afternoon cup of coffee) and the best part, it tastes like mint! Elusive is the beautiful pink color I bought from Target. I will definitely be buying other shades! The price point is great, ($6.50) and I can just stick it in my diaper bag when I am needing a little extra glam for my look while I am out running errands with my son.

Mom's you know what I am talking about! Our beauty routines need to be quick and easy. I always feel more put together with a little color on my lips, even if I am in my workout clothes, and my hair is going on day 3 without a wash :)

Try it out! Let me know what you think! I love sharing great new products I find with my friends and fellow mom's!

Fashion Friday: Chambray and Booties

Ready for Spring!

This is a great go-to outfit for me! My button up Chambray shirt is easy to nurse my son in and black skinnes go with everything. I always love to add a scarf for a pop of color and pattern. And you can't go wrong with brown booties.
Happy Friday everyone!

Headbands

I am loving the look of a headband right now. It's an easy way to style my hair on day 2 or 3 (after washing and styling). As a busy mom it nice to have a fun, go-to accessory for my hair to make me feel more put together, even if I only have a few minutes to get myself ready for the day!

Made this headband with my sister using 2 different cloth headbands and tying them together. We had fun creating them after being inspired by some DIY tutorials we watched.

What ways are you using a headband or turban to style your hair? I'd love to see your styles and comments!!
